Standard Grade Analysis
Grade 304
The most common of the three grades. It offers good corrosion resistance while maintaining formability and weldability. Available finishes are #2B, #3, and #4. Grade 303 is not available in sheet form.
Grade 316
More corrosion resistance and strength at elevated temperatures than 304. It is commonly used for pumps, valves, chemical equipment, and marine applications. Available finishes are #2B, #3, and #4.
Grade 410
Heat treatable stainless steel, but it has a lower corrosion resistance than the other grades. It is commonly used in cutlery. The only available finish is dull.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the primary differences between Grade 304 and Grade 316?
Grade 304 is the standard all-purpose grade with excellent formability. Grade 316 contains added molybdenum, which provides significantly better corrosion resistance, especially in chloride-rich and marine environments.
What does the 2B surface treatment signify?
The 2B finish is a cold-rolled, heat-treated, and pickled finish. It is the most common finish for stainless steel sheets and has a smooth, moderately reflective appearance.
Can these stainless steel sheets be used for outdoor projects?
Yes, stainless steel is ideal for outdoor use due to its corrosion resistance. For projects near the coast or in high-pollution areas, Grade 316 is recommended over Grade 304.
What thicknesses are available for the CZ-S36 model?
Our stainless steel sheets are available in a wide range of thicknesses, starting from 0.3mm up to 120mm, depending on the specific application requirements.
What is the standard tolerance for these steel products?
We maintain high precision in our manufacturing process with a standard tolerance of +/-0.01mm, ensuring consistency for industrial applications.
Are the sheets provided with protective oil or coating?
Yes, depending on customer requirements, our stainless steel sheets feature oiled surfaces and smooth finish characteristics to protect the material during transport and storage.
