Highly efficient yet cost effective, L-footed finned tubing offers maximum heat transfer at lower temperatures. The unique L-shaped design holds fins rigidly to withstand heat cycling and high velocity air vibration. This design provides tube wall protection against corrosion and enhances heat transfer through a broad contact surface.
The KL fin (knurled L fin) is helically wound onto the tube under tension. A spinning tool knurls the base tube, and the foot of the fin is knurled into it, resulting in a tight bond and improved thermal performance. Suitable for temperatures up to 320°C (608°F).
The foot is prepared into a controlled stepped double L shape. One fin overhangs the foot of the next, covering the base tube completely. This provides excellent corrosion protection, often used as an alternative to expensive extruded types. Suitable for temperatures up to 177°C.
