EN19 AISI 4140 42CrMo4 is an alloy structural steel used for engineering structures such as high tensile shafts, bolts and nuts, gears, pinions, and spindles. It is also suitable for locomotive traction big gears, supercharger drive gears, pressure vessels, rear axles, connecting rods, and spring clips.

4. Heat Treatment

4140 alloy steel is a high-quality Quenched and Tempered Alloy Structural steel. Oil Quenched & Tempered Hardness is 28-34 HRC. Annealing delivery hardness is less than 250HB.

Annealing: Annealed at 872°C (1600°F) followed by slow furnace cooling.
Tempering: Tempered at 205 to 649°C (400 to 1200°F). Lower temperatures result in higher hardness.
Hardening: Can be hardened by cold working, or heating and quenching.

5. Packing and Delivery

Packing Details:
1. One bundle includes one heat no. and one size only.
2. Bundle weight: 2 tons to 4 tons.
3. 3-4 metal straps per bundle for secure loading.
4. Identification labels showing heat number, size, quantity, and weight.

1. Shipment via 20' container, 40' container, or bulk vessel.
2. 20' container: max 27 tons (max length 6000mm).
3. 40' container: max 28.5 tons (max length 12000mm).
